AlmaTel Kazakhstan JSC (Alma TV) is the first Kazakh operator of data service, paid cable and satellite television. This company is the only telecommunication operator in Kazakh market and provide various of broadband, voice and TV services for nationwide subscribers for over 25 years.
Given that there is extensive cable network deployed in Kazakhstan, Alma TV decided to use the existing cable network to deliver broadband service. Thus, Alma TV selected Sumavision's indoor RMD devices to support the establishment of their broadband service over cable network. Compared to traditional CMTS devices, Sumavision's indoor RMD devices can be functioned in a Distributed Access Architecture (DAA), which help increase average bandwidth, decrease upstream noise and maintenance workload. The transformation of their broadband service enabled them to attract more subscribers.
